The United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) will begin accepting requests for expanded Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) applications on February 18, 2015. This means that USCIS will extend the original two year deferred action period and employment authorization (work permit) to a period of three years. In addition, USCIS has extended the DACA applicants' group to permit individuals of any age who entered the United States before the age of 16 to apply and who have lived in the United States continuously since at least January 1, 2010 (rather than the prior requirement of June 15, 2007) along with meeting all of the other DACA guidelines.
If you or someone you know would like to apply for DACA, please contact our office at (562) 464-6934 for a free consultation.
