We are thrilled to announce that several of our clients have been nominated and won awards at the 2023 Latin Grammy Awards, which took place in Seville, Spain, on Thursday night (Nov. 16). The Latin Grammys celebrate the best of Latin music across genres and regions, and we are proud to represent some of the most talented and diverse artists in the industry.
Here are some of the highlights of our clients’ achievements at the 2023 Latin Grammys:
Record of the Year Nomination:

This catchy and uplifting song by Spanish superstar Alejandro Sanz and our client, Venezuelan singer-songwriter Danny Ocean was nominated for Record of the Year, one of the most prestigious awards of the night. The song showcases the fusion of pop, rock, and urban influences that characterize both artists’ styles, and delivers a message of hope and resilience in the face of adversity.
Best Cumbia/Vallenato Album Nomination:
Cumbia Del Corazón, Los Ángeles Azules

The legendary Mexican group Los Ángeles Azules received a nomination for Best cumbia/vallenato album for their album Cumbia Del Corazón, which features collaborations with artists such as Gloria Trevi, Belinda, and Lali. The album is a celebration of the cumbia genre, which originated in Colombia and spread throughout Latin America, and showcases the group’s signature sound of combining traditional instruments with modern beats and vocals.
Best Ranchero/Mariachi Album:
WINNER: Forajido EP2, Christian Nodal

Christian Nodal, the young sensation of the regional Mexican music scene, won the award for Best ranchero/mariachi album for his EP Forajido EP2, which includes hits such as “Botella Tras Botella” and “Dime Cómo Quieres”. The EP showcases Nodal’s versatility and innovation, as he blends elements of ranchera, mariachi, norteña, and pop music, creating a unique and fresh sound that appeals to a wide audience.
Best Norteño Album:
WINNER: Colmillo De Leche, Carin León

Carin León, one of the rising stars of the norteño genre, won the award for Best Norteño album for his album Colmillo De Leche, which features songs such as “El Rey De Mil Coronas” and “Tu Amor Barato”. The album is a testament to León’s talent and charisma, as he delivers powerful and emotional performances that capture the essence of the norteño style, which originated in northern Mexico and southern Texas, and incorporates influences from polka, waltz, and corrido.
Best Regional Song Nominations:

“Ella Baila Sola,” Pedro Julian Tovar Oceguera, songwriter (Eslabon Armado & Peso Pluma)

These two songs were nominated for Best regional song, which recognizes the songwriters of the best regional Mexican songs of the year. “Alaska” is a collaboration between Colombian pop star Camilo and our client, the Mexican norteño group Grupo Firme. The song combines the romantic and playful lyrics of Camilo with the energetic and festive rhythms of Grupo Firme.
“Ella Baila Sola” is a song by Mexican banda group Eslabon Armado and our client, Mexican artist Peso Pluma, and it features a catchy and danceable melody.

These three albums were nominated for Best banda album, which recognizes the best albums of the “Banda” genre, which originated in the state of Sinaloa, Mexico, and is characterized by the use of brass instruments, percussion, and vocals. Hecho En México… Mágico is the latest album by Banda El Recodo De Cruz Lizárraga, the most influential and longest-running banda group in history, and it features songs that pay tribute to the Mexican culture and folklore. Punto y Aparte is the album by Banda MS de Sergio Lizárraga, one of the most popular and successful banda groups of the current generation, and it includes hits such as “La Casita” and “Cerrando Ciclos”. Prefiero Estar Contigo (Deluxe) is the album by La Arrolladora Banda El Limón De René Camacho, another leading banda group that has been active for over 50 years, and it contains songs that explore themes of love, heartbreak, and social issues.
